Amber Milliken

Hon. Website Development Officer

Amber is studying BSc (Hons) Equine Performance and Business Management at ARU Writtle, having previously completed a Level 3 Advanced Technical Extended Diploma in Equine Management at CAFRE in Northern Ireland where she originates; now living in England, Amber has been involved with horses from a young age.

She gained practical experience across a range of professional equestrian settings, including showjumping, eventing and equestrian tourism in the Republic of Ireland, supporting guided hacking and XC rides.

She also taught beginner to intermediate riders at a summer camp in the United States, developing
important teamworking and organisational skills whilst also gaining experience in hunter jumper and western riding.

Alongside her equestrian background, Amber has a strong interest in marketing, digital communications and website development.

Following a university project with the BHF to improve the organisation's website accessibility and design, she continued supporting the charity as a volunteer.

Amber now holds the role of Honorary Website Development Officer for the BHF, leading the
development of the organisation's new website by creating the wireframe, supporting its design and user experience, coordinating the transfer of existing content, and assisting with the implementation of new features to improve accessibility, functionality and user engagement.

Following graduation, Amber hopes to pursue a career in marketing and communications.
