Dr. Amy Holtby

Dr Amy Holtby is a Senior Lecturer and equine research scientist at ARU, specialising in genomics, performance, health and welfare.

Following her PhD from University College Dublin in 2021, she has worked across academic and commercial research, including genomic investigations, digital product development and laboratory innovation.

Her research explores genetic influences on equine behaviour and welfare. In 2023, her paper investigating stress responses in Thoroughbred yearlings ranked among the top 10 most-viewed papers in Animal Genetics
