Sophie Oliver

Sophie has just graduated from ARU Writtle where she studied BSc (Hons) Equine Performance and Business Management, which included areas such as event management, nutrition, equine marketing, equine business growth, breeding and foaling. Her dissertation included a nationwide survey on the “factors affecting owners’ choice of nutritional supplements for use in competition and leisure riding”.

Sophie has worked on a dressage stud/livery yard for the past 10 years; she has worked with mares, foals, stallions, youngstock and competition horses. Alongside this she took on the task of creating and managing a website, which has seen a growth in traffic over the last year, and operates the social media for the stud.

Furthermore, she films and edits sales videos and advertises them across social platforms and often becomes the first point of contact for interest, answering questions and screening potential buyers.

Currently undertaking video editing for social media reels and video editing of previous conference webinars ready for inclusion in the Knowledge Hub for the new website, to make media more digestible and furthering dissemination through the BHF’s social platforms.

Interest in equine marketing (specifically video editing and digital marketing), nutrition and sport horse breeding. Sophie is currently working at the stud while seeking more specialised work opportunities or internships in these areas
